Weekly Meeting

This week we have still been recording in the locations that we are using, we are looking to re-record some of the locations to improve the quality of our video so we would have completed this task to the highest of our ablities. There has also been a change of main actors so therefore meaning the video would have to be recorded again as Lucy is now the main actor instead of Kayleigh.

Weekly meeting

This week we are going to be continuing with the recording that we started last week, we have also decicded as a group that we are changing the main actor for the girl role from kayleigh to lucy. We are looking to progress as much as we can do this week.

My Role

In our music video i am going to be the main actor so due to this role i am going to have to make sure that my time management is good so that i am able to record when i am needed, also i need to make sure that i am focused so that we our able to complete are recording efficiently.

Weekly meeting

As one of the members of our group is off it was only three of us who discussed what we are aiming to achieve by the end of the week, we are defiantly going to start the actual recording of our music video as we now have found aall the locations that we want to record at.

Draft recording/ locations

Here are some videos that we have recorded during are draft recording these are also some of the locations that we are going to use whilst making the music video. We have chosen these locations so we are able to see what they would look like if we used them in are actual video, we also have used the locations we think are most suitable to are song choice.

Week Meeting

This week we have decided that we are going to get the majority of the locations we are going to be filming at in to pictures to show each place, we have started are draft recording and are looking to be able the actual recording we are going to be using in the video.

Group meeting 3

As we our off school we have already discussed what we are going to be doing next week. we are looking to take more photos of locations and are going to start recording. We are also looking to meet up on various days.

Group Meeting 2

This morning we had our second group meeting, we looked at what we set out to achieve last week, these were choosing the song for our video, we have almost finished our storyboard as well. This week we are looking to take pictures of the locations that we are going to be using within our video and also to finish the story board.

Choosing song

We have decided that we are going to use the song Latch ft Sam Smith as this is a song that we all agree that will be suitable to produce a video for.

First group meeting

this morning as a group we discussed the tasks that we are looking to complete this week, the first task we are going to complete in todays lesson is are production logo and also the name of our group. In tuesdays lesson we are going to be choosing what song were going to use in are music video. once these have been completed we are going to be looking to start are storyboard.

Logo

We have chosen our name as KKRL we have decided to use this name as it is the first letter off each of our first names. This is our logo for our music production.

Group meetings

We are going to all meet up on monday mornings in the sixth form common room to discuss what we are going to do in the forthcoming week, and to discuss what we achieved within the week before. we hope by having these meetings that all targets set will be achieved as we have a clear idea what we are doing this will also help with are time management.

Agreeing roles

We have came to a decision to what role each person is going to do within the group, as there are a lot of roles people have multiple roles:

Rhyce- Camera man and actor
Lucy- Costume, set and actor
Kirstie- Director and actor
Kayleigh- Editor (post production) and actor

If there are more people needed within the video(actors) then we will ask people that we know will be suitable to the role we will give them. we chose are roles based on what we think each person is best at.

Agreeing A2 coursework brief

As a group we have decided that we are going to do the music video brief, we chose this brief as we believe this is the brief we would be able to complete to the best of our abilities.  We have extensive knowledge in this area so obviously this is the best one for us.

Agreeing working groups

As a class we had to decide who was going to be in each group, by picking people who we work best with so we can strive towards completing the tasks set. In my group there is me, Lucy, Kirstie and Kayleigh.

Brief (music video)

For this brief we have to make our own music video as well as advertisements. Below I have chosen a few music videos I believe our group could re create within the time scale and within our budget.

Route 94 My Love - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BS46C2z5lVE this would be quite easy to re-create as there is only 2 locations is the man walking down a dark entry and then inside a party. they have used heat sensor on the camera so the people in the video are orange, yellow and purple. A disadvantage of doing this is there are a lot of people used in the video.

Jess Glynne Right Here-https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SSrCaX8ttuw The location what is used would be easy to re-create as it is just a brick wall in the back ground. The chair that she is sitting on is not something we are able to get so we would have to find something similar. The transitions used are also quite difficult for us as we don't have sufficient experience.

Although some of the props we couldn't have in the video like a motorbike because we don't own one. we would need to recruit more people to be in the video this could prove difficult as not many people would want to be in it.

Brief(Film trailer)

Brief 2 is all about film trailers. During my research, I found that the most simple movie genres to do was comedy and horror. When doing a film trailer, you need to decide how much time you have to do this so time management, then the props you have and the location you have to record in.

This is the trailer off 22 jump street which I spent time reasearching. The location is in a college, pretty similar to my sixth form so would be easy to re-create as 22 jump street has plenty of people in the back ground, maybe extras, and theres plenty of people in my sixth form to so this would work. Near the end of the film is were it gets a little too unrealistic with all the cars and lambroghinis involved especially lorries. Not many effects were used throughout so this would be a great film to do as it would not be as time consuming and would not mean I had to spend loads of time on effect ect and can focus more on creating the film to it's best standard.

The Purge 2 
The second film i researched was the purge which is a horror based film. The main props used was the masks which I could easily get a hold of from the drama studio at school. Secondly, the other props used were guns which you are able to get a hold of fake guns or even make one. The purge also has an easy location. It is mostly filmed on the dark streets at night but other locations come into other scenes such as a dark alley and a house.

The hostel: This was another horror I researched but looking into it closely, I have not got the resources to re create this film. It is set in an abandoned warehouse/factory and there is not many of them around New Brighton to just use. Also we have a certain time period that it needs to be completed it and this one would take forever due to how many scenes are in it and how many different locations are used. Another thing is all the effects for all the killings, again, we don't have the time to be sitting there editing many parts of many scenes. This film is one I would not do for the reasons above.

Brief 3 new computer/video game

This brief would be the most difficult to re-create as it involves animation, we are able to do animation but this is a very difficult and time consuming task to complete, so we may not finish in time for the deadline that has been set therefore it may be a lot more practical to do the other two briefs may be a better option.

Briefs

i have been studying the 14 briefs that i have been giving, i have decided after looking at them that the three briefs i am going to pick are:

1)a promotion package for a new film which includes a trailer, together with two of the following three options.

• a website homepage for the film
• a film magazine front cover, featuring the film
• a poster for the film

2)a promotion package for the release of an album, to include a music promo video, together with two of the following three options.

• a website homepage for the band
• a digipak for the albums release
• a magazine advertisement for the digipak

3)a promotion  package for a new computer/video game, to include two TV advertisements, together with two following three options.

• the cover of the games package
• a magazine advertisement for the game
• two hyperlinked pages from the games website

Trailer

• Some of the angles that we used were quite good.
• there was some camera shake throughout we needed to film again and make sure there wasnt any.
• we worked within a deadline which we completed the trailer within.
• with more time we could of wrote a better story board.
• mise en scene could of been improved better costume and props.

Editing

to edit the clips that we had recorded we used IMovie on the apple macs, by using this programme we were able to add sound clips to are trailer to make the clip more intense by using a music clip with a fast tempo. we were also able to add fade in affects from story to story instead of a it just jumping straight from one scene to the next this wouldn't look very professional. we were able to add effects to the clip such as changing the colour of the back  ground to make it look old or to make it look more towards the original trailer.

Filming

the locations that we used when recording where just very basic places around are school, we tried to replicate a similar environment as what we had seen on the original trailer, such as the part in the original trailer when there was cars in the back ground we used the school car park to replicate this. props that we used were things such as mobile phones, computers and guns these which were all used in the original trailer to. as actors we used members off are group for each part as there were more actors on the trailer than we had in are group someone had to act two roles. angles what were used when we were recoring were angles such as close ups so you are able to catch all the emotion that the actor is showing this giving you a clear idea about what the trailer is about.

Storyboard

this is the storyboard for the trailer that we made of  `the prince`, this is the first task we had to carry about. Firstly we had to watch the original trailer so we were able to pick out some of the best parts what we were then able to re-create. underneath each image there is text that is that the actor has to read out whilst recording.

Deciding are roles

As a group we all met up to decide what role each person was going to do, we had to choose who was best suited to each role that had to be preformed. we had to decide who was going to be the director, who was going to be recording and who was going to be the actor. as we were in small groups for this task some people had to do multi roles within the task.
